Prime Example - Jacobs Mk1

Prime Example

Jacob Whitesides super clean Mk1 Golf

Its hard these days to find a clean mk1 let alone one of a 'good road condition' But when we came across Jacob Whiteside's super clean Mk1 Golf at Hulloween cruise 2012 last month I had to know more. After a while i finally managed to track down the owner of this stunning classic. Its the perfect show car, not driven daily if possible but Jacob drove all the way too Newquay in the mk1 for run to the sun this year and definately representing next year!
After arranging a shoot with this OCD clean dub we met on a very windy Sunday morning in Lincoln, arriving at the location to find Jacob already there giving it a quick wipe down ready for its shoot. Also bringing along a very nice Audi A4 B6 on 3SDM 005's & V2 Airlift...it would appear we've just got ourself two shoots in one! Having had a chat with Jacob for 20 mins or so whilst cleaning the cars & waiting for some sun, it finally came out! And seens as both of Stancde.Imaging's toggers were there, we decided to take one car each & get snapping! With a very old industrial estate to play with we had some great backdrops for these show class motors!

But seens as this part of the feature is about this great classic, heres Jacobs story. Jacob had this to say when we asked why a Mk1?
"I've loved dubs from since I can remember, always remember seeing old photos of my dad with several mk1s and since then it has been my dream car! I love the shape of them, just how simple and clean cut the lines of the car are."
Jacob bought this mk1 around a year and a half ago, it came on ats classics and the paintwork wasn't the best! First thing he did was strip the engine and refurb it to make it mechanically sound, as it was driven daily for a year! Next Jacob fitted some coilovers and the bbs and got it sitting right. Treating it serious detail until the paint was at the standard shown.

After adding a few little personal touches here she is today!
"My opinion on volkswagens is that there is one golden rule... "Less is more"
I just kept that in mind and here's what I have a year or so on :)"
We agree with this! So subtle, ticks all the right boxes & still shows a true VW purists touch whilst standing out from the crowds!

We at Stanced.Imaging would like to thanks Jacob for braving the wet, windy weather & bringing out his prime example Mk1 for s to drool over at attack with cameras...
Met an amazing lad, with a great passion for cars, keeping the scene true, its an amazing car! The locations couldn't have been for better! Also a shout out to Alex Robinson for Picking me (Slater) up from Waddington at 9:30am to transport me to shoot, then driving me home again afterwards! You're a star!

Big thanks to my girlfriend for putting up with all the time and effort gone into the golf! Also big thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way such as Kevin Hines, Matt Windsor, Tom CArnaby, stanced.imaging, all my Instagram followers showing the support an everyone who loves volkswagens.
